I read once that goal of the artist is to make work that requires no critique at all. Max Burke’s music journalism is so beautiful, he is doing critique that is its own example of art. Most recently, Max has combined the full powers of his left and right brain to share the recent work of LA artist I.E.. His brief article in Visitation Rites is the most intelligent and thoughtful piece on I.E. that I have ever read. She truly deserves it.
